W5D UUID: an identifier that carries its own digital DNA.
A research direction: a long-form identifier, possibly 8 to 16 MB, that embeds structure, provenance and possibility. Always written "W5D UUID", because it is not a standard UUID.

The idea
A conventional UUID is a 128-bit number, 16 bytes, that identifies an object across distributed systems. The W5D UUID is described as a next architecture of database identity: a long-form identifier whose size can reach 8 to 16 megabytes, carrying an embedded, self-describing, verifiable structure that turns the identifier from a pointer into a genome. In the founder's words, a conventional identifier says "I am this", and a W5D UUID says "I am this, I was this, I can become this, and here is the proof".
Name
The name is always W5D UUID. It is unrelated to the standard UUID formats in RFC 9562, and it must not be used where a 16-byte UUID is expected.
Declared limits
Relations
The founder describes the W5D UUID as KernID made portable, Meridian made self-verifying and Aevum made transferable, and as the anchor of a SelfAI. These are statements of intent.
